Kerry travels around Australia giving hilarious talks and running workshops on using creative ideas to deal with work and life, often tailoring talks to suit the needs of clients by using humour to focus positively on one issue or a conference theme..As Kerry explains ‘My career as a humourist began with writing books about my madcap family. It was standing in front of an audience, however, that changed my writing.I found humour gets the audience’s attention, but it is the serious philosophy that they take home with them. So now I do both. I set out to engage and energise audience with humour and move them with serious insights into life.
Following the popularity of her humorous Mathspig blog, Kerry spoke at the International Congress of Mathematical Education in Hamburg in 2016.

Some Keynote Addresses/ Workshops
Communication: How to Razzle Dazzle Them!
In the workplace we use meetings, casual and formal conversations along with voice and e-mails to communicate. It’s all highly efficient. Sometimes, however, meetings can be so dull they grid participants down to the least contribution; casual conversations morph into monologues or whingefests; formal conversations turn into official nagging; voice mail becomes, um, ah, you know and e-mails are sent, it seems, to induce a coma in the reader.
In this talk I will step you through ways of making meetings more engaging, casual and formal conversations mutually productive and voice and e-mails more relevant. Moreover, the Art of Modern Communication is quite simple. All you have to do is get their attention, get to the point and use your own words.
I could e-mail these thoughts to you, but you won’t act on them. You need to be engaged in the concept. So I am going to look you in the eye and, actually, show you how to do it. In the workshop Kerry involves participants in hilarious activities, which demand creativity, good communication and total co-operation. In her words ‘Even though I know these activities have humorous potential, I am always absolutely astounded by the spontaneity, wit and sheer brilliance of participants. And so are they.’

Work/Life Balance: Energiser Bunny Me!
The perfect work/life balance, according to Kerry, would be sitting by a pool, sipping a cocktail with a little umbrella in it reading a novel all day. But, as Kerry comments ‘No one wants to pay me to do it’.
So off to work we go. Of course, work delivers many benefits, but often workloads are demanding. Combined with the stress of constant change, dealing with the bureaucracy, health issues, family and home duties, your work life can drain your energy levels until you are dragging yourself through each day. Kerry uses humour to show you how to revitalise your attitude to life.
Moreover, when we laugh at our own foibles we see our lives in perspective. This talk provides the inspiration needed to get the work/life balance happening.
In the workshop is about recharging your batteries. Through a variety of hilarious and insightful activities, Kerry will show participants how to off load stress, re-energise and laugh out loud.

Help! I’m a Cliché Get Me Outa Here!
From health care to education to the corporate world many workplace procedures and protocols have been standardised to meet best practice guidelines. But there is one hitch. There is no such thing as a standardised patient, student, client or corporate team member. This fun presentation is designed to energise you, to challenge how you classify yourself and others in stereotype boxes such as old, young, talkative, shy, short, tall, X Gen, Baby Boomer, student, teacher, manager, employee and more.
This talk breaks down rigid thinking processes, which so often, have been absorbed over time from our culture, but serve no purpose. While the presentation addresses the serious issue of diversity, it is the laughter that counts the most for life viewed from a different angle through humour expands your thinking to allow for a more creative approach to work, life, love and relationships.

I grew up in rural Victoria in the sixties when the pace of life was steady and flowed with the seasons. That’s all gone now. Today life in the country is just as hectic and complex as in the city with a few more parking spaces and online cows.
Once we came from the ‘land down under where women glowed and men thundered’, now men glow and women thunder. Everything has changed. Our dreams and expectations have changed. The way we work, relax, communicate, eat, play, love, date and have children has changed. The order has changed. Sometimes we have children first then date and, finally, marry. Even the way we age has changed. Maybe, you shouldn’t age and just keep working until you are eighty.
Add the pace of our click-on click-off, touch screen, App driven, eLinked lives to this background stress of constant change and you can see why Aussies today no longer fit the no-worries-she’ll-be-right-mate tanned, layback Aussie stereotype of old.

The BIG Challenge
The biggest change, however, has been in our attitude to life. Today, we Aussies take everything seriously. Our hair, our coffee, our gardens, our careers, our child rearing efforts, our bathroom taps, the whole shebang: we have, in other words, stopped laughing at life.
In this hilarious talk, Kerry will change your attitude to life. She will have you laughing at the way we deal with all these stresses. Moreover, when we can laugh at our own foibles, not only do we see our lives in perspective, we free our selves from the prison of rigid, formulaic expectation.

Kerry is able to structure a presentation, seminar, workshop, or an after dinner speech, to suit the specific needs of the client, but always with an entertaining and humorous bent. In most cases, getting people to laugh at themselves, their own behaviour patterns or professional attitudes, brings a realisation which both enlightens the individual and binds the group.
As one seminar participant said: “Fun, Magic and Inspirational”
